We celebrated our daughter’s 6th birthday recently with a Princess Party. She wanted to have her party at the park this year but with rain forecast for that weekend, I had to think of some easy activities to keep the little guests happy inside, in case we had to change our venue. And so I came up with this printable crown template.
Instead of party hats, the idea was to have the kids making their own crowns to wear at the party. So it doubled as an activity and as party decoration as well!
Printing the crown template
To print the printable crown template I recommend using a thick white card stock, so they’re sturdy enough to withstand being decorated and worn at the party and beyond. Cut small holes in the marks provided in the template and thread a piece of elastic or ribbon through the holes to tie the crown around the child’s head.
Decorating the crown template
I put the blank crowns on a table along with crayons, glue sticks and craft gems for the kids to decorate them with. You could also include stickers and other embellishments, pompoms, colour markers, watercolours or paint. Once the girls had decorated their crowns, they wore them on their heads for the rest of the party and then took them home.
