I bought this pegboard for my 3 year old who is really into puzzles but she quickly lost interest in it. To extend the use of this toy I created some pegboard pattern cards for her to copy onto the board. I included easy patterns and other more complex ones so we can increase the difficulty as she masters each one of them. At first she needed my help so I stayed next to her to give some encouragement and tips during this activity but she had fun completing the patterns on the cards.
I’m sharing this printable so you can use it too if you have a similar board. You can also use these cards if you have any loose parts in these colours.
To make your pegboard pattern cards:
DOWNLOAD – Scroll down to find the download link at the bottom of this post.
PRINT & TRIM – Trim around each card
LAMINATE – After printing, laminate each card for durability (optional)
I made mine with a photo box, cake cardboard, an excel spread sheet, and penny pasta I painted. My grandson saw it and wanted one so…. what do Yia’Yia’s do…. Now I just need some pattern’s
Love it! He’s so lucky to have you!
Where did you purchase your peg board? Could you please share a link? Thanks! -Rachel
I don’t have a link but I got this board from aliexpress. I think they called it math cylinder blocks. Hope this helps :)
