Ever since I designed this Cat Party theme a few months ago I’ve been thinking about how to style a dessert table to go with it and I couldn’t be happier with the final result! I love the black, white and pink colour combo and the cute cat illustration in this theme.
I wanted to show you how easy it is to set up a beautiful table for your celebrations without going over budget. You don’t need expensive decorations or fancy desserts, with the help of our Party Printables and a little love you can create a pretty table yourself in the comfort of your home.
The Cat Party theme has been has been a hit the last couple of months and I wanted to show it ‘in action’ to give you some ideas of how to style it. I think it will be a popular theme this year!
To decorate this table I started by making a few big paper rosettes for the background. I used black, white and pink card stock to go with the colours of this theme and attached them to the wall behind the table. Then I hung the banner that comes with the party pack on top. You can edit the banner to spell your child’s name or any other message you like!
I set up the table with the cake as a focal point on the left. I used an upside-down fruit bowl to give height to the cake stand and decorated it with the Cat cake toppers. As you can see, you don’t need a complicated cake, just stick a cute cake topper in a simple cake to make it come to life. I displayed a few cupcakes in the front, decorated with the Cat cupcake toppers and wrappers.
It wouldn’t be a party without some lollies, so I filled a couple of glass jars with “Hairballs” (vanilla flavoured marshmallows) and “Cat Whiskers” (musk sticks). I love coming up with fun names for the different foods, it’s one of my favourite parts of party styling!
There were also paw print shaped sugar cookies I baked using a flower shaped cookie cutter, and frosted the paw prints on top with melted dark chocolate. They were delicious!
The goodie bags on the right had a thank you label attached with a small wooden peg. You can have a special treat inside each bag, or let the guests fill their own bags with sweets from the party table.
A few food labels and chocolate wrappers to finalise and the table was ready! As you can see, it’s a simple table with enough food for just a few children but using the printables in the Cat Party Pack and displaying the food nicely made all the difference.
I hope this post inspired you to decorate your own parties too!
